when I returned to Race HQ from the Moor, the barbeques were sizzling away and the burgers were moving like hot cakes . . whilst inside the barn everyone was enjoying the food and drink, and comparing post-race notes, whilst waiting for the presentations . . the 1st place winners received Cups which didn't photograph so well . . and it wasn't long before the results were complied and Steve and Alexia were able to make the presentations . . to the 1st Male, the 2nd Male, the 3rd Male and the 1st MV40 . . to the 1st MV50 and the 1st Lady . . to the 2nd Lady . . to the 3rd Lady, the 1st LV40 and the 1st LV50 (that's her sat in the middle in the red jacket, I missed her when she stepped forward to receive her prize) and finally to the Combativity award winner, for having (if I remember rightly) already run 9 miles before the start of the race, and a couple more afterwards! He looks old enough to know better!! finally, Steve and Alexia of course thanked all the marshals, and everyone else for coming along, and reminded us of the 10 mile Staveley Stagger on Sunday 20th June (when England don't have a World Cup fixture). I'd like to thank them for having me along, and like them, look forward to seeing you all again in June ☺ |
